What is this 'thammoc'? How can it help me in this world of suffering?
A while ago a there was a discussion on the topic of encouraging people to comment. This is it. The way it works is this:
You click the link at the bottom of this page, and are presented with a piece for you to read and comment. When you comment, there will be an extra box prompting you to enter the URL of a piece you want to be entered into the system. When you've posted your comment this piece will be put in a (secret) list.
This list is used to decide what other people will be presented with when they visit the thammoc page and comment. The basic upshot is: the more you comment through thammoc, the more comments you recieve as a result.
Technicalities
- You will never be presented with a piece that is your own or that you have commented already.
- First, the list is consulted for suitable pieces. If none turn up, a random suitible piece is chosen from one of the three last active users. If even then none turn up, the latest suitible piece on the post-list is chosen.
- Every comment posted through thammoc (that someone actually pastes in the URL for) will display a small notice saying so. This is to ensure people don't post garbage comments and get comments back without having to answer for it.
- Only links to pieces will work. Series pages, portfolios, userpages, external links, none of these will work
- If you don't want to comment a piece, simply don't. Refreshing may get you another piece, it may not.
- Do not open more than one thammoc page at a time. Things will go Wrong.
- Any problems/issues/suggestions? It's forum time for that my friend.
